The Owl City band is an electronic/synthetic pop musical project by musician Adam Young. Adam Young, from Owatonna, Minnesota, is the lead singer of the Owl City band, and surprisingly the sole member of the band, and works on this musical project by writing and playing multiple instruments including keyboards, guitar, drums, cello, and many others.
Young started out as a Myspace sensation, when he began writing and performing music after leaving his job loading trucks and experimenting with music in his parents' basement. Owl City's music is characterized as electro pop and is known for the hit singles "Fireflies" and "Vanilla Twilight."
