Hot Air Balloon is a popular song by Owl City. It was released as a digital single, along with the song Strawberry Avalanche, to help promote the Owl City's Ocean Eyes, but became a popular hit for Owl City. It is now featured on the Owl City Ocean Eyes Deluxe Edition album thanks to its good success. Silence Killer stated that Owl City is "strumming his way along the border between the lands of Twee and Powerpop territory" and continued to say that you should "Leave your jacket behind, clouds wouldn't dare come between the sunshine and Owl City."


Meaning of Hot Air Balloon

The meaning of the song is about dreams and longing to escape to the sky. Adam Young himself told Female First that it is "...a carefree song about adventure and exploration. Looking down on the world, leaning out and brushing the snow from evergreen branches, wondering where life will take you."
